What happened: The Twins are back in Arizona for the second game of their series, looking to respond after a 9-5 loss to the Diamondbacks in the opener. Byron Buxton brings a scorching stretch at the plate into the matchup.

Why it matters: A win would let Minnesota split the set on the road and keep pace in a tight stretch of the schedule. Buxton's surge has reshaped the lineup's outlook after a sluggish April, giving the offense a middle-of-the-order threat heading into the back half of the season.

What to watch: Watch whether Minnesota's bats answer early after the high-scoring opener, and whether Buxton extends his power run.
