What happened: Tyrese Haliburton drove the lane and delivered an assist to Obi Toppin during the 2026-27 regular-season opener. Toppin also converted a basket-and-foul sequence while Haliburton recorded his first points of the campaign.

Why it matters: The opener marks Haliburton's return to the court 486 days after his previous appearance. Connecting on the interior with Obi Toppin, who completed preseason evaluations earlier this month, re-establishes their offensive chemistry at the start of the 2026-27 schedule.

What to watch: Haliburton and Toppin continue their 2026-27 regular-season schedule following opening night.
