What happened: The Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream completed the most-watched WNBA Finals in league history following their seven-game championship series. Every matchup in the series drew capacity crowds, concluding with Golden State capturing the title in Game 7.

Why it matters: The record television audience caps a historic campaign for the Golden State Valkyries, who secured a championship in only their second year of existence. The sustained viewership also reflects unprecedented national interest for the league after Atlanta pushed the series to the maximum seven games.

What to watch: Both franchises turn their focus toward the 2027 offseason after Golden State's championship parade in San Francisco. The league enters the winter aiming to carry historic viewership gains into the upcoming 2027 campaign.
