What happened: Brazilian strawweight Vick Souza returns to competition Friday night at ONE Fight Night 49. Souza previously secured a submission victory over Itsuki Hirata in promotional action.

Why it matters: The bout provides Souza an opportunity to build momentum in the strawweight division following her matchup where she faced Ayaka Miura at ONE Fight Night 45 in July. Securing another finish positions the contender for higher-profile matchups within ONE Championship's women's roster.

What to watch: ONE Fight Night 49 begins Friday at 9 p.m. ET, broadcasting live on Prime Video in North America and Sky Sports in the UK.
