What happened: Van Noy moved from repeated practice-squad elevations to a contract worth $2.75 million in base value. The agreement includes just under $2 million guaranteed and another $250,000 in incentives that begin at four sacks.

Why it matters: Minnesota had elevated Van Noy from the practice squad on Sept. 19 and Sept. 26, so the new terms turn a week-to-week arrangement into committed roster money. The structure also rewards immediate production, with Van Noy already at 1.5 sacks after his September signing in Minnesota.

By the numbers: Van Noy is 2.5 sacks away from the first incentive trigger after opening with 1.5 sacks. ESPN credited him with 20 tackles, two sacks and one interception in 15 games in 2025, and the Vikings elevated him twice before putting him on the active roster this week.

What to watch: The next checkpoint is whether Van Noy reaches the four-sack bonus threshold. Minnesota's upcoming game-day statuses will show whether his snaps keep rising now that the deal includes guaranteed money.
