After spending eight seasons with Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant, Vin Baker is joining Erik Spoelstra’s coaching staff Via @ChrisBHaynes on X

What happened: Chris Haynes reports Baker will work under Erik Spoelstra in Miami. The move reunites Baker with Giannis Antetokounmpo, with whom he has a close bond.

Why it matters: Miami gains a coach already familiar with Antetokounmpo as the star enters his first season with the Heat. Baker also brings experience from the organization Antetokounmpo left this summer.

By the numbers: Baker’s Milwaukee tenure began in 2018 and spanned eight seasons, including the Bucks’ 2021 NBA championship.

What to watch: Baker will join Spoelstra’s staff as Miami prepares for the 2026-27 season.
