What happened: Vita Vea requested a trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after extension talks failed. He reported to training camp after sitting out spring practices.

Why it matters: Vea is a two-time Pro Bowl selection entering his ninth NFL season, all with Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have often completed contracts late in camp or near the start of the season, so reconciliation remains more sensible than allowing the dispute to end a proven partnership.
