What happened: Using a David-and-Goliath frame, Weiss said there is no alternate route if his club wants to keep moving in October. He called the matchup a great challenge with a Dodgers series looming tomorrow.

Why it matters: Los Angeles is the reigning champion and the club much of the National League bracket now runs through. Weiss's remarks set the stakes for a matchup that could determine whether this October run goes any further.

What to watch: Watch for Weiss to name tomorrow's starter. Los Angeles has already been linked to Tarik Skubal for Game 1, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto looming as a likely follow-up.
