What happened: Golden State announced Vogel's addition Thursday after his two-year stint with the Dallas Mavericks, where he served as lead assistant in the 2025-26 season. The Warriors said he joins the staff as associate head coach and brings 12 years of head coaching experience.

Why it matters: The move makes official a July Wire Report item linking Vogel to Golden State's bench and adds another veteran voice ahead of the 2026-27 season. Associate head coach is a senior staff role, giving the Warriors extra experience in game planning and day-to-day bench management.

What to watch: The next point of focus is how Golden State divides responsibilities across its 2026-27 staff heading into camp. Vogel's on-bench role should come into clearer view once preseason work begins.
