What happened: Deshaun Watson was booed repeatedly during the second half of Cleveland's 31-7 preseason loss. Coach Todd Monken responded that avoiding boos requires playing good football.

Why it matters: The Cleveland Browns have not chosen their Week 1 starting quarterback. Watson was making his first home appearance since rupturing his Achilles in 2024.

By the numbers: Watson completed 41.7% of his passes, totaling 36 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. He has made 19 starts since joining Cleveland in 2022.

What to watch: Monken's Week 1 quarterback decision is the next test. Cleveland opens the regular season on the road in Jacksonville.
