What happened: The club said its text inbox has been active since recent news sparked a wave of messages. It is now steering supporters to 604-305-4530 for updates, exclusive offers and a direct back-and-forth channel.

Why it matters: The move gives Whitecaps a first-party contact lane outside social feeds and platform algorithms. That can help the club deliver promotions and time-sensitive updates straight to supporters while gathering immediate fan response.

What to watch: Watch for the number to become part of future club announcements and ticket pushes as the MLS schedule continues.
