What happened: Will Mallory lined up in pass protection against Jeffery Simmons during NFL action. The assignment left a tight end one-on-one with an interior defensive lineman at the point of attack.

Why it matters: Simmons made 67 tackles with 11 sacks in 15 games in 2025 with the Titans. Mallory caught 1 pass for 16 yards in 2 games in 2025 with the Colts, a depth offensive role now tested in protection.

By the numbers: Jeffery Simmons: 67 tackles, 11 sacks in 15 games in 2025. Will Mallory: 1 reception for 16 yards in 2 games in 2025.

What to watch: Watch whether the offense slides protection or chips Simmons on later downs. Repeated one-on-ones there favor the interior rush.
