What happened: Wilson directed his comments to Stroud and Houston with the club winless through four games in the 2026 regular season. Houston drafted Stroud second overall in 2023 out of Ohio State.

Why it matters: An 0-4 opening leaves Houston chasing the AFC field entering Week 5. Stroud's future has lingered as extension talks that remained unresolved before the season, raising the stakes on a turnaround.

What to watch: Houston aims to avoid 0-5 in Week 5 and re-establish offensive rhythm around Stroud.
