What happened: A WNBA All-Star responded to Becky Hammon's continued stance on Jalen Brunson, saying she "respectfully disagree[s]" with the view that his size limits him as a championship-leading guard. Hammon had recently stood by comments she first made in 2023 about Brunson being too small to be a title team's top option.

Why it matters: The exchange keeps Brunson's playoff run in the center of a broader debate about how teams and analysts value smaller lead guards. It also pulls a prominent WNBA voice into an NBA conversation about roster construction, star archetypes and postseason proof points.

What to watch: Watch whether Hammon or Brunson responds again as the discussion follows the NBA Finals buildup. Further commentary from current players and analysts could keep the size-versus-shot-creation debate alive.
