What happened: Yahoo Sports outlined a hypothetical deal that would send Trey Murphy to San Antonio in a transaction built around De'Aaron Fox. The proposal surfaced one day after the Spurs opened camp week with Media Day as the 2026-27 preseason ramps up.

Why it matters: A move like that would signal San Antonio is still weighing major roster changes before opening night. Murphy's name has stayed in trade chatter, including a reported two-first-round offer that was turned down this summer.

What to watch: Watch whether any concrete Spurs movement follows before the club's Oct. 23 opening-night spot on NBA on Prime. Camp cuts, preseason usage and any fresh trade reporting will show whether this idea has legs.
