What happened: Toronto is projected by Yahoo Sports as a trade suitor for a Dallas Mavericks All-Star and NBA champion on a $118 million contract to play alongside Kawhi Leonard.

Why it matters: After acquiring Kawhi Leonard in an offseason trade, adding another championship-tested veteran from Dallas would further bolster Toronto's rotation. Taking on a $118 million salary commitment would require significant matching contracts between the two front offices.

What to watch: The scenario remains a media projection early in the regular season, with no formal trade talks announced between Toronto and Dallas.
