RT @Yankees: Tonight’s Yankees-Dodgers game (Saturday, July 18) has been rescheduled due to the forecast of sustained in Via @Dodgers on X

What happened: The Yankees announced Saturday's game against the Dodgers at Yankee Stadium was postponed due to a forecast of sustained inclement weather. The team said the game will be made up as the first game of a doubleheader.

Why it matters: The postponement squeezes the schedule as both clubs approach the trade deadline, with the Dodgers already weighing catcher depth after shutting down Will Smith and the Yankees managing Aaron Judge's rib injury. Los Angeles took the most recent meeting between the two clubs, 2-1, on July 17.

By the numbers: New York Yankees: 48-40, on a one-game losing streak, scoring 4.7 runs per game and allowing 3.9. Los Angeles Dodgers: 59-33, on a one-game winning streak, scoring 5.2 runs per game and allowing 3.7.

What to watch: The two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader to make up the postponed game.
