What happened: The New York Yankees posted ahead of the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, saying the organization is not forgetting the victims, the families, rescue and recovery workers, and survivors. They also asked supporters to contribute to The Never Forget Fund and noted the team’s players, coaches, and staff visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

Why it matters: The message frames the season in a community context as a routine reminder around a major civic date. It reinforces the team’s public identity during a regular-season stretch where win/loss outcomes and standings still carry postseason implications.

What to watch: Watch whether the team issues additional updates tied to its Sept. 11 remembrance focus or links the fundraiser message to upcoming game communication.
