Once more with this one. Chandler has written the best story you will read on one of the game’s biggest and most stoic s Via @Ken_Rosenthal on X

What happened: Yordan Alvarez balances his status as one of baseball's biggest stars with a quiet life as an avid outdoorsman. The stoic slugger actively shuns the spotlight, presenting a contrast to a sport that is slowly starting to showcase more personality.

Why it matters: Alvarez's understated approach comes during a season where he continues his dominance at the plate. His preference for privacy highlights a traditional mindset that differs from the league's broader push to market individual player brands.

By the numbers: Alvarez entered the week batting .310 with 29 home runs, 67 RBIs, and a 1.030 OPS through 92 games in the 2026 season. He was recently named the American League Player of the Week after hitting .385 with four home runs over a seven-day stretch.

What to watch: Alvarez will continue to anchor the lineup as the 2026 regular season progresses.
