Character. Community. Contributions. ⚾️ Congratulations to Zach Neto on being named our 2026 Roberto Clemente Award nom Via @Angels on X

What happened: Each club submits one nominee for the annual Roberto Clemente Award, which honors a player who best represents baseball on and off the field. The Angels directed fans to the league's voting page as Neto enters the 2026 ballot.

Why it matters: The nomination adds another national accolade to Neto's recent run of milestones during the 2026 season. It also puts him into a leaguewide fan vote tied to one of MLB's highest-profile service honors.

By the numbers: Wire Report has chronicled three recent Neto benchmarks: an AL weekly award on Aug. 26, his 26th home run of the season on Sept. 13 and a stolen-base milestone on Sept. 14.

What to watch: Voting is open as MLB works through this year's Roberto Clemente Award field. The next step is whether Neto advances from club nominee to the league's overall winner.
