What happened: Baun picked up the conference's weekly defensive honor after a standout Sunday performance early in the 2026 regular season. Eliot Shorr-Parks highlighted 12 tackles from the game and called it one of Baun's best outings in an Eagles uniform.

Why it matters: The award adds another league-level marker for Baun, who landed at No. 45 on the NFL Top 100 of 2026, and keeps his name in the early NFC awards conversation. Weekly honors in September can quickly shape how standout defenders are viewed across the first month of the season.

What to watch: Watch whether Baun follows the award with another productive week as the regular season moves on. Another disruptive outing would keep him in the early-season spotlight.
