What happened: Linebacker Zaire Franklin appeared on NFL Network's 'The Insiders' to discuss his arrival in Green Bay, his new defensive coordinator and his read on the schedule. Asked about the Packers' outlook, Franklin offered a simple thesis: 'When you got a quarterback and a pass-rush, you got a chance.' The interview, surfaced by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, frames Franklin's first impressions of the roster around him.

Why it matters: Franklin's comments matter as Green Bay enters the 2026 offseason narrative cycle, with players and coaches setting expectations before training camp. By pointing to quarterback play and pass rush as the two non-negotiables, the veteran linebacker is signaling confidence in the Packers' core, which shapes how camp battles, defensive scheme installation and early will be discussed in the weeks ahead.

What to watch: Watch for follow-up reporting on how Franklin fits Green Bay's defensive front and linebacker rotation, and for additional 'Insiders' segments previewing the Packers' 2026 schedule.
