What happened: Sport Calgary named Zayne Parekh its first ambassador from the Calgary Flames. The defenseman spent time in Marlborough this week playing soccer, signing autographs, and distributing equipment from the Flames Sport Bank.

Why it matters: The appointment highlights Parekh's growing off-ice presence and community involvement in Calgary. He has been actively building ties around the city since opening training camp.

What to watch: Parekh is expected to participate in additional community outreach events with Sport Calgary.
