What happened: It was San Francisco's first visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground after arriving in Australia. The club also joined Special Olympics athletes for a football clinic at AAMI Park.

Why it matters: The stay gives San Francisco several days in Melbourne before the NFL's first regular-season game in Australia. The international opener creates an unusual travel and preparation week to begin 2026.

By the numbers: The MCG kickoff is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. PT on Sept. 10, or 10:35 a.m. local time on Sept. 11. More than 2,000 young fans attended the club's welcome rally at AAMI Park.

What to watch: San Francisco continues preparations at AAMI Park before shifting to the MCG for kickoff.
