What happened: Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel Liverpool have tracked Lamine Camara for an extended period. Camara plays for AS Monaco and profiles as a defensive-minded holder in the Fabinho mould. The interest is tied to Liverpool's search for balance under Andoni Iraola and Julian Ward.

Why it matters: Liverpool's old core has thinned with summer departures and expiring deals reshaping the squad. A settled holder would let younger attackers play with more structure. The Monaco connection gives recruitment a familiar template after Fabinho's move.

What to watch: The next step is any formal approach to Monaco and how Iraola sets the midfield until then.
