What happened: Free agent guard Anfernee Simons has agreed to a two-year, $12.3 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, with a player option on the second season. The deal adds backcourt scoring depth to Philadelphia's rotation.

Why it matters: Simons gives the 76ers a proven offensive boost as they retool their guard corps for the 2025-26 season. His shooting and shot creation off the bench address a clear need for secondary scoring behind the starters.

What to watch: Watch how Philadelphia deploys Simons — as a starter or a lead bench scorer — and how the fit shapes the rest of the roster's offseason moves.
