What happened: Minnesota leads the league in points allowed per game at 13.3, with Jacksonville second at 15.1. Pittsburgh (18.0), Kansas City (18.7) and Tampa Bay (18.9) complete the top five.

Why it matters: The Jaguars are 5-2 in 2026 through seven games and hold the No. 4 seed, coming off a 42-7 win over the Colts on Nov. 1. The Vikings are 6-1 and the No. 2 seed, though their last outing was a 19-15 loss at Detroit. Kansas City is 5-2 and the No. 5 seed after a 28-24 loss at Denver.

By the numbers: Fewest points allowed per game this season: Vikings 13.3, Jaguars 15.1, Steelers 18.0, Chiefs 18.7, Buccaneers 18.9. A 2.9-point gap separates Jacksonville from Pittsburgh, the largest in the top five.

What to watch: Minnesota, Jacksonville and Kansas City all carry winning records into the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
