What happened: The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New York Knicks in late-game Emirates NBA Cup East Group action on Friday. After trading leads in the final minute, Philadelphia established a four-point cushion with 32.6 seconds remaining to close out the victory.

Why it matters: The result adds another chapter to the rivalry between the Atlantic Division contenders after clutch late-game shotmaking defined their playoff series earlier this year. Securing a group-stage win provides Philadelphia key early positioning in the NBA Cup standings.

What to watch: Both teams continue Eastern Conference regular-season action as NBA Cup tournament play progresses.
