What happened: Fox analyst John Smoltz picked Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Aaron Ashby as his King of the Diamond for Game 1 of the World Series. Ashby passed the credit to the offense: "I've always said I would hate to face our lineup, and it's certainly no different here.

Why it matters: Ashby has been one of Milwaukee's most-used bullpen arms this October, and the honor puts him at the front of the Brewers' World Series story.

What to watch: Watch for how Milwaukee uses Ashby when the Brewers play their next home game of the series, which has not yet started.
