What happened: PFF ranks De’Von Achane first among NFL running backs in yards gained after contact, with Bijan Robinson fifth. The ranking highlights runners who consistently create yardage through contact.

Why it matters: After-contact production measures a runner’s ability to generate yards beyond blocking. Achane and Robinson enter the 2026 season among the position’s most difficult players to bring down.

By the numbers: Achane averaged 4.1 yards after contact per attempt during the 2025 season and 3.8 across his career, according to PFF.

What to watch: Their efficiency under contact will be tested again when the 2026 season begins.
