What happened: Darius Acuff attempted at least 20 shots in each of his first seven games, marking the longest streak to begin an NBA career since Wilt Chamberlain. His 183 points over that span are the most by any player in his first seven games since Shaquille O'Neal in 1992.

Why it matters: Acuff previously scored 21 before halftime during his early-season run for Sacramento. His offensive volume now meets Doncic, who has recorded 38.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game in 2026-27 through 7 games.

By the numbers: Acuff through 7 games: 183 points, 7 straight games with 20+ field goal attempts. Doncic in 2026-27 through 7 games: 38.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 8.1 assists per game.

What to watch: Sacramento hosts Doncic tonight, testing Acuff's high-volume start against the league's top individual scorer.
