What happened: The Los Angeles Lakers hold a 79-72 lead over the Miami Heat at halftime. Luka Doncic paced the offense with a game-high 24 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds. Miami consistently committed multiple defenders to the ball, enabling Los Angeles to generate advantages in space.

Why it matters: The Lakers entered the night looking to sustain their early-season form as they faced the Heat on short rest. Miami's aggressive traps tested Los Angeles' rotation depth whenever primary ball-handlers took brief breathers.

What to watch: Both squads return for the second half as Miami aims to adjust its defensive coverage against Doncic's playmaking.
