What happened: Martinez reached the end zone early in the fourth quarter of the second preseason game. It was his first rushing touchdown of the 2026 preseason.

Why it matters: The score carried no standings impact but added a red-zone result to Martinez’s roster evaluation. Final personnel decisions will turn on how reserve quarterbacks perform through the rest of the preseason.

By the numbers: Martinez completed 16 of 30 passes for 159 yards and added a 10-yard run in the preseason opener.
