What happened: A.J. Brown was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, per Mike Vrabel via Mike Reiss. The move opens Brown's practice window after he landed on injured reserve following a Week 1 high ankle sprain.

Why it matters: The designation marks the first formal step toward active-roster reinstatement following earlier uncertainty from Vrabel over when Brown could play again. Adam Schefter reported that Brown has a chance to return to game action as soon as this week.

What to watch: Wednesday's practice participation at 2:10 p.m. ET will provide the first indication of Brown's workload and readiness for Sunday.
