What happened: Amen Thompson blocked Victor Wembanyama at the rim on the game's last possession, and the stop won the game. Thompson is listed at 6-foot-7. Wembanyama is listed at 7-foot-4.

Why it matters: A defensive stop decided the game. No last shot did. Thompson went up against one of the tallest players in the league at the rim with no time left to recover. The play adds a late-game defensive moment to an early stretch that included a 10-point preseason first quarter.

What to watch: Next to watch is whether Thompson keeps getting late-game defensive assignments against the opponent's biggest scoring threat.
