What happened: The option covered the 2027 season. The search for a manager and full coaching staff will be run in coordination with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. Suzuki has been offered a special assistant role to remain in the organization.

Why it matters: The change puts the dugout under the incoming ownership group before the 2027 season. The next hire determines coaching staff construction and clubhouse direction for that season.

What to watch: Interview candidates and the timeline for a hire come next. Staff hires follow once a manager is in place.
