What happened: Kurt Suzuki will not return as Angels manager, per Jeff Fletcher. The club offered Suzuki a special assistant role to stay in the organization. He was hired last October for a one-season tenure.

Why it matters: Los Angeles now opens a managerial search entering the offseason. The decision settles the retention question facing the club after September speculation over Suzuki's future.

What to watch: Los Angeles will move to interview replacements while Suzuki weighs the front-office role.
