What happened: Washington finalized the back end of its standard roster by keeping veteran forward Anthony Gill on his 34th birthday after he entered training camp on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 contract. The move coincided with the Wizards waiving guards Trevor Keels and Alondes Williams alongside forward Chris Livingston.

Why it matters: Gill extends his uninterrupted run in Washington to a seventh consecutive campaign, outlasting another preseason roster crunch to retain the 15th and final standard spot. Clearing Keels, Williams, and Livingston trims the camp roster down to the regular-season limit ahead of the 2026-27 opener.

What to watch: Washington's 15-man regular-season roster is now set heading into the final days of the 2026-27 preseason schedule.
