What happened: Cleveland Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti and manager Stephen Vogt addressed the physical challenges Jose Ramirez played through during the 2026 campaign. Their remarks follow Vogt backing Ramirez as a steady presence through a tough year earlier in October.

Why it matters: Despite the wear on Ramirez, Cleveland captured another AL Central division crown and advanced within two wins of the World Series before its ALCS exit. His presence anchored the club through a postseason run that tested the roster's October staying power.

What to watch: With Vogt remaining in Cleveland after addressing outside managerial rumors, he and Antonetti now shift to offseason roster evaluations.
