What happened: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta pushed back at media criticism of how his side celebrated their Champions League semi-final result, telling reporters that every opinion deserves respect but should be placed 'where they belong.' Pressed on where exactly that was, Arteta repeated the line with a pointed delivery. The exchange was shared by Fabrizio Romano alongside a trash-can emoji.

Why it matters: The remarks come days after Arsenal booked their first Champions League final in 20 years, a milestone that has reignited debate around the club's trophy drought and on-pitch demeanor. Arteta has spent the season defending his squad's emotional intensity, and the soundbite reframes external scrutiny as noise to be discarded rather than addressed. With three Premier League matchweeks remaining and a European final ahead, the manager is publicly drawing a line around his dressing room.

What to watch: Watch for follow-up reaction from rival managers and pundits, plus Arteta's tone in his next pre-match press conference. Arsenal's remaining Premier League fixtures and the Champions League final will test whether the celebration debate carries into results.
