What happened: Troy Deeney selected an all-north London back line featuring Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa and Jurrien Timber following Arsenal's 1-0 victory at Anfield. Tottenham defenders Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke also secured spots after Gray scored in a win against Crystal Palace. Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen rounded out the defensive selections after preserving a 1-0 shutout against Manchester City.

Why it matters: Arsenal sit clear at the top of the Premier League table after grinding out a clean sheet on the road against Liverpool. Defensive stability continues to anchor title contention across the league, with Brighton and Tottenham climbing after decisive weekend performances. Individual contributions from versatile defenders remain central to tactical shifts during an eight-match Saturday slate.

What to watch: Arsenal and Aston Villa shift focus to midweek Champions League fixtures against continental opposition. Premier League play resumes on Saturday with round ten fixtures.
