What happened: Ashby took over in Los Angeles with the tying run at third and one out. He retired Shohei Ohtani to hold the lead and close out Milwaukee's pennant winner.

Why it matters: The victory sends Milwaukee to its second World Series in 58 seasons. It caps an October in which Ashby has served as a late bridge arm.

What to watch: Milwaukee now waits on its World Series opponent before setting its rotation.
