What happened: Sunday's post-race media sessions in the Circuit of the Americas paddock shifted away from on-track results to speculation surrounding Red Bull Powertrains and Aston Martin's partnership with Honda. Team representatives from both operations were pressed on the rumored power unit link-up, prompting Red Bull to state it has no serious engine discussions with Aston Martin despite outside inquiries from multiple Formula 1 outfits.

Why it matters: The paddock chatter surfaced during the same Austin weekend in which Aston Martin commemorated Honda's 500th Formula 1 grand prix appearance. Honda recently introduced its second ADUO turbo upgrade in Spain, making any question over Aston Martin's long-term engine supply a major storyline for both the Japanese manufacturer and Red Bull's in-house powertrain program.

What to watch: Watch for whether Aston Martin and Honda issue further public commitments to their works partnership as the 2026 Formula 1 calendar continues. Red Bull Powertrains' customer supply discussions across the paddock will also remain under scrutiny following interest from multiple teams.
