What happened: The Houston Astros outrighted outfielder Jake Meyers off their roster, sending the veteran to free agency. The move concludes his six-season tenure in Houston after debuting with the club in 2021.

Why it matters: The outright clears a spot on Houston's 40-man roster as the front office begins its offseason adjustments. The transition grants Meyers an opportunity to explore the open market for outfield depth and regular playing time.

What to watch: Meyers enters free agency eligible to negotiate with any club ahead of the 2027 season.
