What happened: The Athletics have officially begun their six-game "Las Vegas Series" at Las Vegas Ballpark, the home of their Triple-A affiliate. The special regular-season event features a three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers followed by a weekend series against the Colorado Rockies.

Why it matters: The series serves as a critical preview of the franchise's future in Nevada ahead of their planned 2028 move to the Las Vegas Strip. Currently playing in West Sacramento, the Athletics (31-34) are utilizing this homecoming atmosphere to test the market and build local momentum against a first-place Brewers team (40-23).

What to watch: The Athletics continue the three-game series against Milwaukee through Wednesday before welcoming the Rockies on Friday. Shortstop Jacob Wilson is expected to rejoin the active roster during the Las Vegas stay.
