Jacob Wilson and the @Athletics step in against Robbie Ray and the @SFGiants for a battle in San Francisco! 📺 9:30pm ET Via @MLBNetwork on X

What happened: The Athletics travel to San Francisco to face the Giants, with Jacob Wilson in the lineup against Giants left-hander Robbie Ray. First pitch is set for 9:30 p.m. ET, with the broadcast on MLB Network.

Why it matters: The Athletics enter at 38-40 and the Giants at 31-46, making this a meeting of two clubs looking to steady uneven first halves. San Francisco has handled the A's in their most recent meetings, taking two of the last three head-to-head, so the result carries weight for the A's bid to climb back over .500.

By the numbers: Season to date: Athletics 38-40 (4.7 runs scored, 5.4 allowed, L2); Giants 31-46 (4.1 scored, 4.8 allowed, L3). Recent head-to-head — May 17: Giants 10, A's 1; May 16: Giants 6, A's 4; May 15: A's 5, Giants 2.

What to watch: Watch how Wilson and the Athletics' bats handle Ray, and whether the A's can reverse a recent skid against San Francisco.
