Atwell says Rams reunion came as a shock

The Aug. 27 deal reversed his March move to Miami.

What happened: A phone call informed Tutu Atwell he was returning to Los Angeles, where he spent his first five NFL seasons. He said he felt as though he had never left and was glad to rejoin familiar teammates.

Why it matters: The move gives the Rams a receiver familiar with their offense after Atwell failed to earn a top-three role in Miami. That familiarity could shorten his adjustment before the 2026 season.

By the numbers: Atwell has 105 receptions for 1,535 yards and five touchdowns across 64 career games, including 27 starts.

What to watch: Watch how quickly Atwell enters Los Angeles' receiver rotation when the season begins.
