What happened: Barcelona's fixture calendar for the 2026/27 La Liga season is out, with Hansi Flick's side opening their title defense at home against Athletic Club on August 16. The reigning champions follow the opener with a home match and back-to-back road trips to Valencia and Levante in the early weeks.

Why it matters: Barcelona enter the campaign chasing a third straight Spanish crown, and the schedule frames the key dates that will decide it. The first El Clasico against Real Madrid lands at Camp Nou on matchday 10 in late October, with the Bernabeu return on matchday 35 in May positioned late enough to potentially swing the title race.

What to watch: Attention now turns to how Flick manages the demanding autumn run and whether the late-season Bernabeu Clasico proves decisive in the title chase.
