What happened: Fabrizio Romano says links between Trent Alexander-Arnold and a return to Liverpool are "completely out of the mark." Liverpool never started any concrete or serious conversation to bring him back, Romano said, after Liverpool's defeat to Arsenal.

Why it matters: Alexander-Arnold is not planning a Premier League return or a Real Madrid exit in the January window, per Romano. He says Real Madrid and the player plan to continue together at least until the end of the season, with both sides wanting a long-term future.

What to watch: Alexander-Arnold played in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Racing Santander, which Romano said he did very well in.
