What happened: Jessie Bates III attended Sunday’s session in a jersey and shorts but did not take part in drills.

Why it matters: The absence costs the starting safety additional training-camp work as Atlanta prepares for the 2026 season. Bates is entering the final year of his contract.

What to watch: The next update is whether Bates returns to drills at the Falcons’ next practice.
